Meet Our Team

Carrie Thrash, Principal

Carrie Thrash served as the assistant principal of Maize South Elementary from 2015 to 2017 and then moved into the principal's position, bringing over 20 years of educational experience to the role. Carrie holds a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and a Master's in Educational Leadership from Wichita State University.

In addition to her work in education, Carrie has served on the District Leadership Team, helped develop a walkthrough tool that provides real-time information about what's happening in the classroom and served on several committees to support student learning. Her leadership philosophy is rooted in the belief that every student deserves the opportunity to succeed, and she works to ensure that Maize South Elementary continues to be a nurturing and supportive place for students, staff, and families.

Welcome to the 2024-25 school year! We are thrilled to have your child at Maize South Elementary, home to the Wolves and leaders of the pack! I hope you all had a restful and enjoyable summer break. It’s been wonderful to see our hallways filled with excitement and energy as students settle into their new classrooms. This year, we are committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment where every student can thrive, and we can't wait to see the amazing things they will achieve.
