Facilities Steering Committee tours Maize High School

Members of the Maize USD 266 Facilities Steering Committee visited Maize High School on Sept. 2 as part of their ongoing work to identify both short- and long-term facility needs across the district.

During the visit, the group toured areas of the school that date back to its 1996 opening, as well as spaces that have been updated through the years. Committee members also reviewed athletics fields and other district facilities, focusing on current needs and future opportunities.

The Facilities Steering Committee includes employees, students, parents, and community members. In addition to Maize High School, the group has toured Maize Career Academy, Maize Intermediate School, Maize Early Childhood Center, Vermillion Elementary School, and Maize South High School.

The committee is scheduled to meet again in early October and has added another session later in the month. Next steps include prioritizing needs identified during the tours to develop recommendations for the Maize Board of Education later this school year.

Maize USD 266 thanks all Facilities Steering Committee members for their time and commitment to helping shape the future of district facilities.
